I have always believed that a great creative idea is still the most important thing any agency needs to provide, plus an intelligent approach that answers the client’s needs. So I have become accustomed to taking complicated briefs, asking questions of the client, and distilling the answers down into a cohesive and compelling response that is pertinent and campaignable.
I still love that process, being part of the inspiration, helping to nurture that and seeing a team come together.
My beginnings were in advertising, but I have more recently moved onto the design side now the disciplines have become more integrated.
Social media, PPC and SEO, multimedia, interactivity, CRM and CMS – one cannot know everything about them – but you need to know a reasonable bit. And be able to brief the right people to do the final job.
Advertising and design have changed hugely, but I still get a real kick out of helping to nurture that great idea, presenting to the client, and seeing it all come to fruition.
